Sur, a city built on the edge of the ocean, along a winding lagoon, was the port dedicated to trade with East Africa until the beginning of the 20th century and still testifies today to the traditional maritime vocation of the Sultanate of Oman.

The old quarter of Aïja, the languid little fishing port has a certain charm and seems to have not changed for centuries. Visit of a small shipyard where the secular tradition of the manufacture of dhows or "dhow" is perpetuated, these Arab sailboats which did so much for the glory and the fortune of the country - ocean-going vessels which linked China or the African coast to the most modest fishing boats.
