Discover DJEBEL AKHDAR

{$destination->destinationName}}

Djebel Akhdar (180 km from Muscat), "the green mountain" in the heart of the al Hajjar massif which crosses the whole country from northwest to southeast. Between the Sayq plateau and the highest point of Jebel Akhdar, between 2 and 3,000 meters above sea level, the most famous landscapes of Oman unfold, the terraced crops, the fruit trees, the fields of roses, inhabited by pretty villages, a "green" island in the heart of Arabia.

Djebel Akhdar is only accessible by 4x4 by an extraordinary winding road that begins in Birkat Al Mawz, a small town famous for its flower plantations and palm groves. It is crossed by an ancient "falaj" (very old irrigation system) which supplies the surrounding palm groves.
